CAMBRIDGE, MA. - Saint Joseph's (3-10) defeated Lesley
University (0-3) 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 21-25, 25-15) on Tuesday
evening. Freshman Samantha
Varrell (Portsmouth, NH) registered 30 assists, 10
digs and six aces and teammate Katie
Boccanelli '12 (Cottonwood, AL) had a
double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs.
Senior Amanda Ruel (Biddeford,
ME) had 11 digs, freshman Kiersten
Carbone (North Reading, MA) recorded eight kills
and seven digs and freshman Jordan
Pelczar (Meredith, NH) notched eight kills and
five digs for St. Joe's. Sophomore Kendra
Frye (Moultonborough, NH) blasted five service
aces in the Royal Blue victory.
St. Joe's will host University of New England on Thursday evening
at 6:00 PM while Lesley University will face off against Pine Manor
College on September 18th at 7:00 PM.
