STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced its Weekly Honor Roll and Saint Joseph's College freshman volleyball standout Sarah Hawkes (Pownal, ME) has been honored.
In a 1-2 week for the Monks, Hawkes averaged 10 kills, 7 digs and over 3 blocks per game. The freshman belted 24 kills with an outstanding .320 hitting percentage in a conference tri-match with Norwich and Mount Ida on October 24th.
Heading into the final weekend of the season, Hawkes leads the Royal Blue in kills (293), hitting percentage (.274) and total blocks (69) and ranks third on the team in digs (200). Her kills total, kills per set average (2.90) and hitting percentage rank as the best in the program's last 10 seasons.
Through October 26th, the rookie middle blocker was sixth in the GNAC in kills and ninth in hitting percentage.
Saint Joseph's will host Southern Maine on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
