Nolan Named Monks Volleyball Head Coach

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College Athletic Director Brian Curtin has announced the hiring of Yamile Nolan as the head coach of the women's volleyball program.

Nolan succeeds John Razsa, who stepped down as the volleyball coach earlier this month.

Nolan, who served as an assistant coach for the Monks last fall, brings a wealth of playing experience to the table as the team's new leader. A native of Torrance, California, Nolan played at El Camino Community College for two seasons and went on to star at University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), where she received a full athletic scholarship and played under legendary Head Coach Kathy Gregory. As a member of the Gauchos, Nolan earned All-Big West Second Team honors and set many team records. USCB advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of her two seasons.

"We are pleased to have Yami take the reins of our volleyball program," adds Curtin. "She brings a great deal of knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport of volleyball, while her familiarity with our current team and Saint Joseph's College will also serve her well. The program is in good hands."
