STANDISH, ME – The GNAC weekly honors have been announced and SJC freshman Holly Bannister (Cumberland, ME/Greely) has earned Rookie of the Week honors.
With 13 kills, 11 service aces and 19 digs, Bannister played a large role in the Monks' four victories, including an SJC Autumn Invitational Championship win, over the weekend. The first-year middle blocker blasted five aces in wins over Wentworth and Green Mountain on September 10th.
Through eight matches for the 6-2 Monks, Bannister has registered 21 kills, 12 aces, 19 digs and four total blocks. She ranks second on the team in aces and third in hitting percentage with a .134 mark. She is also tied for the team-lead with 24 sets played.
Saint Joseph's will host Lesley University tonight in a non-conference match set to begin at 7:30 PM.
