Begley Claims Monks' All-Time Assists Record

STANDISH, ME – Junior setter Kiah Begley (Berwick, Maine/St. Thomas Aquinas) broke the Saint Joseph's College volleyball record for career assists in a 3-1 victory over Mount Ida College on Saturday, September 17th.

Begley surpassed Kerri Padgett '04, who amassed 1,509 assists in 93 matches and 408 sets, in the 68th match of her career and now has 1,652 helpers in 248 matches and 72 sets over two-plus seasons.

She also set the Monks' single-season assists record with 703 as a freshman in 2009 and is the program's current assists average leader by a wide margin with 6.7 per set. Begley set the team record for assists in a match with 45 in a five-set win over Green Mountain College on September 12th, 2009.

Begley has registered 25 double-doubles in her career, the most by any SJC player over the past three seasons.
