Wachowiak Earns Seventh Conference Honor of the Season

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior middle blocker Felicia Wachowiak (Milton, N.H.) has been named as the GNAC Corvias Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.

Wachowiak averaged 4.2 kills per set with a .371 attack percentage and nine total blocks in a 3-1 week for the Monks. The senior middle blocker broke the SJC career kills record in a 3-0 victory over Husson on Monday and added 21 kills in a five-set loss to WPI on Friday. She capped the week with a 19-kill effort in a 3-1 triumph over Anna Maria College.

In the midst of perhaps the finest season ever recorded by an SJC women's volleyball player, Wachowiak has been honored by the conference following each reporting period this fall. The senior standout has earned Offensive Player of the Week acclaim four times and been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions, and was also named as the ECAC DIII New England Offensive Player of the Week for her play during the reporting period ending September 27th.

Including this week's honor, Wachowiak has claimed an astounding 17 conference weekly awards, as well as a trio of ECAC honors during her collegiate career.

Through 18 matches, Wachowiak has tallied 226 kills with a .367 attack rate along with 67 total blocks (43 solo) in 63 sets. She continues to lead the GNAC in kills, kills per set (3.59), total blocks, block solos, points (281) and points per set (4.5) and ranks second in the conference in attack percentage.

Saint Joseph's (17-1, 5-0 GNAC) will host University of Southern Maine at 7:00 PM on Thursday.
