Thompson Earns Fourth GNAC Weekly Honor of the Season

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College sophomore Jennelle Thompson (Farmington, N.H.) has been named as the GNAC Corvais Libero of the Week for the fourth time this fall.

Thompson tallied 51 digs in a pair of three-set matches on Saturday, including 34 in a 3-0 loss to Anna Maria College. The sophomore averaged 8.50 digs per set for the week and 11.33 per set in the setback at the hands of the AMCATS.

Through 21 matches this season, Thompson ranks as the conference leader in digs (524) and digs per set (7.35). The second-year standout has recorded 1,137 digs in less than two full seasons and is currently second in NCAA DIII Women's Volleyball in digs per set average.

For Thompson, the weekly conference award is the 10th of her career. The 2015 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-GNAC honoree garnered three Rookie of the Week honors and was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions during her freshman campaign.

Saint Joseph's (10-11, 5-4 GNAC) will host University of New England Thursday at 6:00 PM.
