Thompson Named GNAC Libero of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College junior Jennelle Thompson (Farmington, N.H.) has been selected as the GNAC Corvias Volleyball Libero of the Week

Thompson averaged 7.25 digs per set in a 3-2 week for the Monks and earned SJC Autumn Invitational All-Tournament Team honors after notching 101 digs in 16 sets over four tourney matches, including 28 against Maine-Fort Kent.

The junior standout currently leads the conference with 176 digs and ranks second in the GNAC in digs per set (6.29). She broke the Monks' career digs record during a win over Maine Maritime on September 2nd - the second game into her junior campaign – and currently has 1,481 digs over 236 sets (66 matches) for a career 6.28 digs per set average.

Thompson capped her sophomore season ranked second in NCAA DIII Women's Volleyball with an average of 7.04 digs per set and claimed First Team All-Conference and GNAC Libero of the Year accolades for her efforts.

For Thompson, the GNAC weekly honor is the 11th of her career and first this season.

Saint Joseph's (4-4) returns to action Thursday with a non-conference match at University of New England (7:00 PM).
