Thompson Earns GNAC Libero of the Week Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College junior Jennelle Thompson (Farmington, N.H.) has been named as the GNAC Corvias Women's Volleyball Libero of the Week for the second time this fall and 12th time in her collegiate career.

Thompson averaged 8.45 digs per set in a 3-0 week for the Monks and tallied 40 digs in a 3-1 victory over University of Saint Joseph on Saturday. She added 28 digs in a 3-1 win over Lesley University on Monday and 25 in a 3-0 triumph over Anna Maria College on Wednesday.

Through 15 matches this fall, the junior standout has tallied 341 digs with a 6.56 digs per set average. She currently leads the conference in digs per set and ranks second in the GNAC in total digs.

Earlier this season, Thompson broke the Monks' career digs record and currently has 1,646 digs through 73 matches (260 sets) over three seasons.

Saint Joseph's (10-7, 3-1 GNAC) will play at Simmons College Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
