Monks Top Chargers, Fall to Blazers in GNAC Tri-Match

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Saint Joseph's College (8-18, 5-6 GNAC) split a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball tri-match at Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday. The Monks opened with a 3-1 (25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 26-24) win over the host-Chargers (9-16, 3-7 GNAC) and capped the trip with a 3-0 (16-25, 19-25, 19-25) setback at the hands of Elms College (16-7, 8-3 GNAC).

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Senior Olivia Kent (Ellington, Conn.) notched 10 kills, three aces, and six digs
  • Freshman Hanna Webster (Alvin, Texas) tallied eight kills, two aces, nine digs, and a pair of block solos
  • Freshman Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) added eight kills and seven digs
  • Senior Sarah Quinn (Dover, N.H.) posted six kills and seven digs
  • Junior Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) delivered 29 assists with three kills, six digs, and a pair of total blocks
  • Freshman Sierra Burns (Peyton, Colo.) picked up 21 digs

LEADERS – COLBY-SAWYER:

  • Sam Mohammed and Ameesah Cotton registered seven kills apiece
  • Anna Allen posted 28 assists and six digs
  • Mia Lopez recorded 10 digs

  • Junior Catherine Balzano (Portland, Maine) notched four kills, two aces, and four digs
  • Holden added eight assists and six digs
  • Webster chipped in with three kills, six digs, and two total blocks
  • Burns scooped up nine digs

  • Laura Jensen produced nine kills and five service aces with six digs
  • Alanys Cruz Diaz posted eight kills and nine digs
  • Govanna Rosado notched 22 assists and six digs
  • Kianna Lozada tacked on 16 digs
  • Sabrina Christie contributed three kills, six digs, and four block solos
