Bates Tips Saint Joseph's in Five Sets

LEWISTON, Maine – Bates College (5-9) rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Saint Joseph's College (7-15), 3-2 (23-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-19, 19-17) in a non-conference women's volleyball match on Tuesday evening.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Freshman Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) notched a double-double with 11 kills and 18 assists with three aces and three block assists
  • Sophomore Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) posted 11 kills and eight digs
  • Senior Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) also recorded a double-double with 18 assists and 15 digs with three kills and three aces
  • Freshman Nadia Sixto (Chattanooga, Tenn.) added six kills, two digs, and three block assists
  • Senior Isabel Philbrick (Milford, N.H.) tallied four kills and six total blocks
  • Sophomore Hanna Webster (Alvin, Texas) contributed five kills and 12 digs
  • Junior Sam Holland (Gilmanton, N.H.) chipped in with 13 digs
  • Junior Abby Jerome (Barrington, N.H.) added nine digs and a pair of service aces

LEADERS – BATES:

  • Katie Kortekaas posted 12 kills on 53 attempts
  • Emma Eide registered eight kills, 36 assists, three aces, and 13 digs
  • Ami Evans added four kills, three aces, and 21 digs
  • Julia Neumann notched eight kills, three digs, and two block assists
  • Kate Hansen had four service aces and 13 digs
