Saint Joseph's Defeats Albertus Magnus & Anna Maria in GNAC Tri-Match

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Saint Joseph's College (10-15, 4-4 GNAC) swept a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball tri-match at Albertus Magnus College (6-17, 2-6 GNAC) on Saturday. The Monks opened with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-21) win over the host-Falcons and closed out the day with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-12) victory over Anna Maria College (3-14, 0-7 GNAC).

TEAM STATS:

Saint Joseph's held the lead in kills (42-15), attack percentage (.274 – .027), assists (40-14), service aces (13-3), and digs (39-33).

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Sophomore Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) delivered 11 kills, three aces, and three digs
  • Freshman Nadia Sixto (Chattanooga, Tenn.) posted six kills, three aces, and three digs
  • Senior Isabel Philbrick (Milford, N.H.) notched eight kills on 11 attempts for a .727 attack rate with a pair of aces
  • Freshman Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) added seven kills, two aces, and nine digs
  • Senior Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) boasted 27 assists with three aces and eight digs
  • Sophomore Hanna Webster (Alvin, Texas) contributed five kills and six digs

LEADERS – ALBERTUS MAGNUS:

  • Colleen Edwards and Diana Kalman posted seven kills apiece
  • Rachael Pellegrini added 14 assists and five digs
  • Amanda Zdru chipped in with 10 digs

Saint Joseph's held the lead in kills (35-20), attack percentage (.310 – (-.060)), assists (31-18), and service aces (7-4) while Anna Maria notched a 36-29 advantage in digs.

  • Briones posted eight kills, five assists, four aces, and seven digs
  • Sylvester belted seven kills on 14 attempts for a .357 attack percentage
  • Sixto added five kills
  • Holden contributed 19 assists and five digs
  • Philbrick, Webster, and Regan Noonan (Standish, Maine) registered four kills apiece

LEADERS – ANNA MARIA:

  • Bella Kozciak notched seven kills and three digs
  • Serena Dennis added 15 digs
  • Isabella Sand tallied 17 assists and seven digs
