STANDISH, Maine – Colby College (1-0) defeated Saint Joseph's College (1-3), 3-0 (29-27, 25-22, 25-16), in a non-conference women's volleyball match on Mike McDevitt Court at the Harold Alfond Center on Wednesday evening.

TEAM STATS:

Colby held the lead in kills (34-29), attack percentage (.130 / .102), assists (29-25), service aces (13-7), and digs (65-60).

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Sophomore Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) notched a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs and posted a .289 attack rate with a pair of service aces
  • Junior Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) belted five kills with seven digs and a block solo
  • Senior Kailyn Chamberlin (Milford, N.H.) added 11 assists and two aces
  • Senior Abby Jerome (Barrington, N.H.) picked up a career-high 25 digs with four assists

LEADERS – COLBY:

  • Hannah Wylie posted nine kills on 21 tries for a .333 attack percentage
  • LJ Grant added six kills and seven digs
  • Reanna Yadao paced the Mules with 21 digs and added three service aces
  • Allison Rodriguez notched 19 assists with three aces and four digs
  • Alli McKenney chipped in with 10 digs

NEXT!

Saint Joseph's will host a non-conference tri-match with UMaine-Presque Isle (11:00 AM) and Gordon College (3:00 PM) on Saturday. The Owls and Fighting Scots will face off in the middle match at 1:00 PM.
