Monks Top Owls, Fall to Fighting Scots

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (2-4) split a non-conference tri-match on Mike McDevitt Court at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday. The Monks opened the day with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-11) win over UMaine-Presque Isle (0-4) and suffered a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-11) at the hands of Gordon College (4-1) in the closing match.

LEADERS – SJC:

  • Sophomore Nadia Sixto (Chattanooga, Tenn.) produced eight kills and a .400 attack percentage
  • Sophomore Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) added seven kills, two aces, and eight digs
  • Junior Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) chipped in with seven kills
  • Freshman Larisa Comolli (Nashua, N.H.) contributed five kills and a .444 attack rate
  • Senior Kailyn Chamberlin (Milford, N.H.) posted 15 assists and eight service aces
  • Freshman Sabrina Arcilla (Rivervale, N.J.) notched 10 digs and a pair of aces
  • Senior Abby Jerome (Barrington, N.H.) posted four aces and nine digs

LEADERS – UMPI:

  • Brianna Bolhuis notched two kills and 13 digs
  • Alondra Lopez-Aquino added 10 digs and a pair of kills

  • Comolli paced the Monks with eight kills
  • Sixto chipped in with five kills
  • Briones posted four kills and 11 digs
  • Chamberlin added 12 assists and four digs

  • Joey Keltner boasted 15 kills on 34 attempts with 12 digs and three assists
  • Annie Zimmerman added 11 kills and three digs
  • Kate Howe dealt 30 assists with four aces and 10 digs
  • Nikki Batson delivered 18 digs
