STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (5-7, 2-1 GNAC) showed plenty of resilience but ultimately suffered a 3-2 (21-25, 25-16, 25-16, 15-25, 16-14) defeat at the hands of Lasell University (8-1, 1-0 GNAC) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball match on Mike McDevitt Court at the Harold Alfond Center on Thursday night.

After opening the match with a 25-21 first-set triumph, the Monks endured a pair of 25-16 set losses but managed to force a deciding fifth set with a dominant 25-15 win in the fourth.
