Biddeford, ME - The women's team took fifth place in their first
race of the season, finishing with 139 points at the University of
New England Invitational.
The team was led by sophomore Sarah Willis (Buckland, MA) who
finished in 8th place. "Her 21:05 was a 24 second improvement over
last year's race, but doesn't reflect what we know she is capable
of. Sarah will stay with those Bowdoin runners when it counts,"
stated Coach Dann.
The team packed well together, including sophomore Jasmine Smith
(Standish, ME) in 47th, junior Michelle Sanborn (Standish, ME) in
50th, sophomores Suzanne Connelly (Hingham, MA) and Aubrey Gray
(Winthrop, MA), 55th and 56th respectively. Also competing were
seniors Robin Caron (Portage Lake, ME) and Shannon Flynn
(Manchester, NH).
