STANDISH, ME - SJC women's cross country freshman Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive reporting period.
Dostie won the Runnin' Monks Invitational with a 20:10 performance in the 5K event hosted by Saint Joseph's on Saturday. The first-year runner has participated in three meets this season with two victories and a runner-up effort.
The first-year standout opened her collegiate cross country career with a 19:32 effort, good for a runner-up finish, in the Rivier College Invitational 5K on September 23rd.
Dostie followed up the impressive showing with a 20:25 time in the Colby College Invitational to collect her first NCAA top finish a week later.
Saint Joseph's will participate in the State of Maine Championship meet at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester this coming Saturday.
