STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's cross country standout Amber Dostie '15 (Standish, Maine) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Runner of the Week for the second time this fall.
Dostie finished 11th with a 23:31 effort in the 6K ECAC Cross Country Championship at Mount Greylock Regional Middle School on Saturday. Her place and time both rank as SJC program bests in the annual New England championship meet. Also a three-time GNAC Rookie of the Week, the weekly conference honor is her fifth overall this season.
The first-year standout has paced the Monks in all six events in which she has participated this fall and has three individual victories to her credit. Her lowest finish was a 13th-place finish in the 2011 State of Maine Championship on October 15th.
Saint Joseph's will conclude the 2011 campaign with an appearance in the NCAA Regional Championship on Saturday at Brunswick, Maine. The women's race begins at 11:00 AM.
