Another GNAC Runner of the Week Honor for Dostie

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's sophomore Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this fall.

Dostie placed second out of 85 runners with a 19:11 effort in the 5K Keene State College Invitational on Saturday. Her time was only 10 seconds off the top performance and ranks as the third fastest 5K time ever posted by an SJC runner.

Dostie's resume is quite impressive, as the second-year standout has racked up five individual victories with a pair of runner-up efforts in 10 events in less than two seasons. The 2011 GNAC Runner and Rookie of the Year, Dostie also has three conference rookie of the week accolades and has now been selected as the GNAC Runner of the Week six times.

She shattered the SJC women's cross country 5K record - by 32 seconds – when she won the Raiders Invitational with an 18:33 time last Friday in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Saint Joseph's will host the Runnin' Monks Invitational this Saturday at 11:00 AM.
