Eaton & Harrington Gain Conference Recognition

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College runners Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) and Marie Harrington (Limerick, Maine) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors.

Eaton, a junior, has been selected as the GNAC Runner of the Week for the second-consecutive week while Harrington, a freshman, is the GNAC Rookie of the Week for the first time in her young career.

Both runners earn accolades after competing for the Monks in a very competitive field at the University of Southern Maine Invitational last Saturday. Eaton, a second-year runner, paced the Royal Blue and finished 82nd out of 243 participants with a 20:08 effort. Harrington has improved every week and placed 155th with a 21:29 effort in the USM Invitational at Narragansett Elementary School, which will be the host-site for the NCAA DIII Regional Championship in November.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the Bowdoin College Invitational in what figures to be another hotly-contested race this Saturday.
