Women Place 22nd in Purple Valley Classic

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College women's cross country team placed 22nd with 662 points in the Purple Valley Classic at Mt. Greylock High School on Saturday. Senior Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) finished 125th out of 267 runners with a 25:38 effort.

Sophomore Marie Harrington (Limerick, Maine) placed 209th with a 28:10 time, junior Grace Dancoes (Falmouth, Maine) was 233rd with a 29:22 performance and senior Audrey Curry (Perry, Maine) finished 251st (30:46). Junior Riley Jones (Winslow, Maine) (31:02, 254) and sophomore Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) (32:19, 257) also ran in the event for Saint Joseph's.

A pair of MIT runners took the top two places, as Sarah Quinn toured the 6K course in 22:23 and Maryann Gong was the runner-up with a 22:29 time. With four runners in the top 10 overall, MIT cruised to the team victory with 36 points, well ahead of runner-up Middlebury College, which totaled 65 points.

Saint Joseph's is off until Saturday, October 11th when the Monks host the Runnin' Monks Invitational.
