Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Teams Receive Intercollegiate Team GPA Award

STANDISH, Maine – The 2019-20 Saint Joseph's College Team Grade Point Average Awards have been announced and the Monks' men's and women's cross country programs have captured the athletic department's annual academic accolades.

During the 2019-20 academic year, the men's cross country team posted a 3.66 aggregate GPA while the women's program notched a 3.56 GPA.

On the men's side, 10 of the team's 12 runners registered a GPA of 3.65 or higher, including a pair of individuals who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA last year.

For the women, 17 of the Monks' 20 athletes recorded a 3.20 GPA or better with two runners notching a 4.0 mark during the 2019-20 academic year.

"I am so very proud of both teams for their accomplishments," adds Head Coach Tom Dann. "It is a testament to their hard work and to their dedication to being a true student-athlete. I am blessed to have the opportunity to coach such a wonderful group of young adults."

Following each academic year the Saint Joseph's College Department of Athletics honors the Monks' men's and women's programs with the top cumulative team GPA's. The list of past winners is displayed on a perpetual plaque in the SJC Athletics office.
