SJC Teams Honor Professors with Pre-Game Ceremonies

STANDISH, Maine – Over the last several weeks as part of the NCAA DIII Week initiative, members of the Saint Joseph's College spring sports teams have invited select professors to take part in pre-game ceremonies as a way of saying 'Thank You' for their support.

On Saturday, April 8th, the SJC men and women's lacrosse programs held ceremonial face-offs prior to their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contests versus Norwich University and Rivier University, respectively. The men honored Dr. Dale Brooker, an Associate Professor in the Criminal Justice Department, while the women's team brought distinction to Dr. Mike Connolly, a History and Political Science professor at Saint Joseph's.

On Sunday, April 9th, the softball team honored Dr. Antony Girlando, an Associate Professor in the Business Administration Department at the College, who tossed the first pitch before a doubleheader versus Anna Maria College.

On Wednesday, April 12th, Exercise Science Adjunct Professor Jeff Dube threw out the first pitch before the SJC baseball team played Norwich University.
