15 Saint Joseph's Student-Athletes Honored at STAR Breakfast

STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College Athletics and Academic Advisory Committee recognized 15 fall sports athletes who demonstrate commitment to academics, athletics, and leadership through campus involvement with a STudent-Athlete Recognition (STAR) Breakfast on Friday, December 8th.

To be honored, faculty members nominated student-athletes who possess a 3.0 GPA or higher and exemplify the college's core values on and off the field.

In describing the event, Patricia Waters, the Monks' Faculty Athletics Representative and an Assistant Professor in the Education Department, said: "This event brings together coaches, athletics staff, and faculty to recognize what it means to be an athlete at SJC. These students embody our core values and lead others by example as they balance both their academic and athletic commitments."

Monks' coaches and staff were in attendance as were Saint Joseph's College Senior Associate Registrar Jonathan Tuttle and professors, Tim Conley, Terry Girouard-Jordan, Chris Woodside, Josh Schoenfeld, Patty Waters, and Chris Willer.
