Saint Joseph's Teams & Athletes Listed in Final 2022-23 NCAA Statistical Rankings

STANDISH, Maine - The final 2022-23 NCAA DIII Statistics rankings are now available. Six Saint Joseph's College teams and 12 individual athletes finished in the top 25 in various categories for their respective sports. In total, the six SJC programs accounted for 27 top-25 rankings while the Monks' 12 athletes notched 22 top-25 performances last year.

Highlights of this list include:

  • The 2022-23 women's basketball team ranked in the top 10 in three categories, with eight spots in the top 25 overall, including three-point percentage (36.5%, 6th), assists per game (17.7, 9th), and assist/turnover ratio (1.19, 10th)
  • The 2023 women's lacrosse team finished the season listed in the top 25 in seven statistical categories, including draw control percentage (63.7%, 7th), caused turnovers per game (13.6, 10th), and scoring defense (6.7, 10th)
  • The men's lacrosse program flirted with the top ranking nationally in caused turnovers per game (14.67) and opponent clear percentage (67.6%) for the better part of the season and capped the year ranked fourth and seventh in NCAA DIII, respectively
  • Named as the GNAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, grad student Lydia Dexter (Oakland, Maine) highlights the list of SJC individual athletes in the rankings as she closed out her final campaign fourth in points (131), fifth in goals (85), 10th in points per game (6.55), 19th in shots on goal per game (6.95), 23rd in goals per game (4.25), and 25th in shots per game (8.7)
  • Men's basketball freshman John Paul Frazier (York, Maine), the 2023 GNAC Rookie of the Year, capped his first college season ranked third nationally in three-point field goal percentage (48.3%)
  • Men's soccer grad Austin Ward (Andover, Mass.) ranked in the top 25 in four categories: total goals (16, 15th), goals per game (0.84, 20th), total points (37, 21st), and points per game (1.95, 23rd)

In addition to the NCAA leaderboard, the Monks - collectively - led the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in 22 different team categories while nine individual SJC athletes combined to lead the GNAC in 13 categories during the 2022-23 academic year.
