STANDISH, ME The Saint Josephs College field hockey team has been honored as a 2008 National All-Academic Team by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), awarded to programs with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Nine Monks were also honored individually for achieving academic excellence, having posted at least a 3.30 GPA during the fall semester.
STANDISH, ME - The North Atlantic Conference has announced the 2008-09 Fall All-Academic Honorees and five Monks' field hockey players have been selected to represent Saint Joseph's College.
STANDISH, ME -Head Coach Rupert Lewis has announced the 2008 Saint Joseph's Field Hockey team awards. In all, six players were recognized for their efforts during the 08 campaign in which the Monks posted a program-best 15 wins.
STANDISH, ME Going into the 2008 season, the teams first in the North Atlantic Conference, it seemed that the St. Joes Field Hockey team would be hard-pressed to improve on the 2007 campaign in which the squad set new program records in a multitude of statistical categories, including wins, winning percentage, and scoring. The group, which featured 14 returners from the 07 team that advanced to the ECAC title game, did just that and surpassed all expectations by recording another record-breaking season under fourth-year Head Coach Rupert Lewis.
