BRISTOL, RI - The SJC men's cross country runners
earned 648 team points and finished 23rd out of 48 teams in the
ECAC Division III Championship, hosted at Colt State Park in
Bristol, Rhode Island on Saturday. Senior Ryan
Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) toured the 8K course in
26:49, just 29 seconds off the pace of the race leader, Adam Smith
of St. Vincent (PA), to earn a ninth-place finish out of 323
runners.
Williams College (NESCAC), with six runners in the top 20, won the
race for the fourth consecutive year with 64 team points.
Prescott, coming off his second consecutive GNAC
Championship, placed 25th in the 2007 ECAC title race.
Dating back to his sophomore season, Prescott has
been the top SJC runner in 20 consecutive races. The senior has won
four meets and finished in the top ten 20 times in his career at
St. Joe's.
Jeremy Allen '10 (Rutland, VT)
finished 127th (29:14), Bobby
Britten '12 (Scarborough, ME) was 147th (29:39)
and Vinny Micucci '09 (Yarmouth,
ME) placed 168th (29:58).
Andrew Mockler '12 (Saco, ME) was
the fifth SJC runner, #209 overall, to cross the finish line
(30:54), followed by Tony Myatt
'09 (Portland, ME/Cheverus) at #234 (31:40) and
Andrew Moravick '10 (Biddeford,
ME) in 268th place (32:39).
Saint Joseph's will compete in the NCAA D III New England
Championships, hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, MA on
Saturday, November 15th. The women's race begins at 11:00 AM with
the men to follow at 12:00 PM.
