BIDDEFORD, ME - The SJC Men's Cross Country team
tallied 163 points to earn a sixth-place finish in the UNE
Invitational on Saturday. Jeremy Allen '10 (Rutland, VT) ran the 8K
event in 29:10 to lead the Monks and finished 22nd overall.
Southern Maine dominated the race with 15 points and the top nine
finishers overall. UNE placed second with 78 team points while
Lyndon State finished in third, Maine Maritime fourth,
Maine-Presque fifth and Thomas seventh.
Huskies top runner Tyler Jasud took home the title with a time of
25:58, while Justin Richardson (USM, 26:08) finished second and
John Vallo (USM, 26:32) placed third. The top non-USM runner was
Matthew Veiga from UNE, who ran the course in 27:55 for a 10th
place finish.
Notable runners from St. Joe's include Andrew Mockler '12 (Saco,
ME)(33:45, 57th), Andrew Moravick '10 (Biddeford, ME)(34:12, 61st)
and Jeffrey Letellier '12 (Biddeford, ME)(35:09, 71st).
The Monks will host an alumni race next Saturday at 9:00 AM.
