STANDISH, Maine - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Jacob Huberdeau (Atkinson, N.H.) has been selected as the GNAC Runner of the Week.
Huberdeau was the top finisher for the Monks and placed second overall with a 28:27 time in the 8K Ron Ouellete Invitational, hosted by the University of New England on Saturday. His performance was 73 seconds off the leading pace recorded by UNE senior Anthony Chase, who claimed the individual crown with a 27:14 effort.
The Monks have had an individual earn the top weekly GNAC honor in each of the first two weeks of the season, as Huberdeau's classmate - Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) - claimed the same honor last week. For Huberdeau, the conference weekly honor is a career-first.
Saint Joseph's will compete in the Maine State Championship at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester on Saturday, October 1st.
