STANDISH, ME – The Saint Joseph's College Women's Swim team opened the 2010-11 season with a 147-89 victory over Husson University at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon. Hannah Gajewski '12 (Biddeford, ME/McAuley) led all participants with three individual top-finishes in the triumph.
Juniors Rose Maccarrone (Hingham, MA) and Jamie Wojtkiewicz (Bedford, NH) both notched a pair of individual victories while Christine Cote '13 (Biddeford, ME), Meghan Carr '14 (Topsham, ME) and Courtney Shea '14 (Walpole, MA) added top finishes for the Monks in the season-opener.
Saint Joseph's, which won 12 of 14 events on the day, also posted victories in the 200-Medley and 200-Free relay competitions.
The Eagles earned top finishes from Hali Fleishman and Amanda Mason in the 100-Free and 100-Back competitions, respectively.
St. Joe's will return to the pool for a home meet against Elms College on Saturday, November 13th. The first event is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
