Matthews & Hutchins Collect GNAC Weekly Honors

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced the first swimming & diving weekly honors of the 2023-24 academic year and a pair of Saint Joseph's College athletes have earned accolades.

Junior Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) and freshman Berkley Hutchins (Springfield, Vt.) have claimed GNAC Women's Swimmer and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively. The weekly award is a career-first for both athletes.

Competing in the 2023-24 season-opener at Colby-Sawyer College on Friday, Matthews won the 50-Free (26.66) and 100-Free (59.43) events while Hutchins raced to a top finish in the 100-Breast (1:17.33) and placed second in the 50-Free (27.85). Both swimmers swam legs for the Monks' winning 200-Free relay (1:54.26) quartet.

Saint Joseph's will participate in the Husson University Relays on Saturday, October 21st.
