2011-12: Competed in all nine of the Monks’ meets and swam in 32 individual events…also participated in 13 relay races…registered a team-high 13 top finishes with five runner-up efforts…broke three team individual records and swam legs for four of the Monks’ team-record-breaking relay teams at the NEISDA Championship in late-February…selected as the GNAC Rookie of the Week twice and listed on the conference weekly honor roll on four occasions…tallied a pair of victories in her first NCAA meet with top times in the 100 Back (1:07.51) and 50 Back (30.78) at Husson University on November 5th…registered wins in the 50 Back (34.83) and 50 Fly (34.37) and added a runner-up time in the 200 Back (2:46.15) at Elms College on November 12th…tallied a hat trick of victories with wins in the 50 Free (27.93), 50 Back (30.52), and 100 Back (1:07.29) events versus Regis College on November 19th…her 50 Back time ranked a personal-best and set a new SJC record…competed in four GNAC Championship finals events…posted a personal-best 2:25.56 effort to place third in the 200 Back and also placed third in the 50 Back (30.80) at GNAC’s…added wins in the 100 Back (1:08.29), 50 Back (31.33), and 100 IM (1:10.19) events against Husson on January 14th…won the 50 Free with a personal-best 27.64 time and finished as the runner-up in the 100 Back (1:08.64) versus University of New England on January 16th…posted runner-up efforts in the 100 Back (1:08.62) and 50 Fly (30.51, personal-best) against Simmons College on January 21st…broke the program’s 50 Breast (34.79) record and added a win in the 100 IM (1:09.27, personal-best) to go with a runner-up time in the 50 Fly (31.05) at Gordon College on February 4th…competed in three NEISDA Championship prelims, including the 100 Back event in which she broke the SJC record with a 1:06.70 time…swam in two NEISDA finals, the 50 Back (30.53) and 50 Breast (34.84), finishing 17th and 20th overall, respectively…swam legs for the Monks’ record-breaking 200 Medley (2:03.05), 400 Medley (4:29.66), 200 Free (1:49.50), and 400 Free (3:54.69) relay teams at the NEISDA Championship. 

High School: Swam for four years for Chrystena Ewen at Londonderry High School...making the State Championship, Meet of Champions, and New England meet all four years. 

Personal: Amanda Jeanne Avella, born on August 21, 1993 in Rockville, Connecticut...daughter of Mark and Suzanne Avella... majoring in Exercise Science.
