BOSTON, MA - The 2011 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships and Men's Invitational are underway as the Simmons Sharks lead the Women's field with 136 points, followed by Elms College with 97, Saint Joseph College (Conn.) with 82, Saint Joseph's College (Maine) posting 52, Regis College with 42, Norwich University with 27, and Husson University posting 26 points to round out the teams after the first day of competition.

Leading the Men's field is Norwich University, who recorded 141 points through the first 21 events. The Cadet's are followed by Regis College with 121 points, Elms College with 73, and Saint Joseph's College (Maine) with 69 points.

It was a fast Saturday, with several GNAC and pool records broken as the teams tested their own limits. Below is a list of the new GNAC records swum today:

The Championship continues tomorrow morning with the first event at 10:00 a.m. at the Holmes Sports Center at Simmons College. Sunday's finals will begin at 5:00 p.m.
