Gajewski and Avella Gain GNAC Honor Roll Accolades

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College swimmers Hannah Gajewski '12 (Biddeford, Maine/McAuley) and Mandy Avella '15 (Londonderry, N.H.) have claimed GNAC Weekly Honor Roll mention.

Gajewski posted an impressive showing in the GNAC Championship meet over the weekend with a team-high 29 individual points and broke program records in all four of her races. Her 2:19.25 effort yielded a top finish in the 200-IM and set a new GNAC record in the event. Gajewski also notched runner-up performances in the 1000-Free (11:37.74) and 100-IM (1:05.78) and a third-place time in the 100-Breast (1:15.40).

Avella, a two-time GNAC Rookie of the Week award recipient, enjoyed another fine outing with 22 individual points in the GNAC Championships over the weekend. The rookie recorded a pair of third-place finishes and two fourth-place efforts in the meet.

Saint Joseph's will swing back into action when the team hosts Husson University on January 14th at 1:00 PM.
