Husson Bests Saint Joseph's, 143-109

BANGOR, ME – Husson University defeated Saint Joseph's College, 143-109, in women's swimming action on Saturday afternoon. Senior Christine Cote (Biddeford, Maine) posted three individual victories in a losing effort.

Cote won the 200-Free (2:18.11), 100-Free (1:01.28) and 50-Fly (31.83) and also swam a leg for the Monks' top-finishing 200-Medley relay (2:08.31) team. Freshman Mickeyla Murphy (Scarborough, Maine) won the 50-Breast (35.88) and placed second in the 100-Breast (1:21.94) in her first NCAA meet.

Freshman Alexandra Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) registered runner-up times in the 50-Back (34.32), 100-Back (1:15.77) and 500-Free (6:24.59) while fellow first-years Anne Fougere (Warner, N.H.), Alison Cuddahy (Weymouth, Mass.), Brooke Huberdeau (North Andover, Mass.) and Claire O'Brien (North Kingstown, R.I.) also performed well in their first collegiate event.

Senior Kiani Camire (Lewiston, Maine) registered personal-best times in the 50-Free (28.85) and 100-Free (1:04.43) and swam legs for both of the Monks' top-finishing relay teams, the 200-Medley (Krasco, Murphy, Cote and Camire – 2:08.31) and 200-Free (Murphy, Camire, Huberdeau and Cuddahy – 1:58.34).

Saint Joseph's will host Elms College on Saturday, November 10th at 1:00 PM.
