Monks Fall to Pride, 156-90

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College fell to Regis College, 156-90, in women's swimming action at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon. Making her first appearance in the pool, freshman Lauren Rabideau (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) won a pair of individual events in the losing effort.

Fresh off the cross country trails, Rabideau won the 50-Fly (30.21) and 50-Breast (34.47) and finished as the runner-up in the 100-Breast (1:15.45) in her first NCAA swim meet. The 2012 GNAC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Year, Rabideau broke a program record in her first event – the 50-Breast – and nearly topped the team 100-Breast mark later in the day.

Senior captain Christine Cote (Biddeford, Maine) recorded the only other SJC victory with a top time in the 500-Free (6:06.15) and was second in the 50-Free (27.84) and Alexandra Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) placed second in the 200-Free (2:22.76) and 100-Back (1:13.33) events.

Alison Cuddahy (Weymouth, Mass.) finished in second in the 500-Free with a 6:37.10 time and classmate Mickeyla Murphy (Scarborough, Maine) took second in the 100-Fly (1:17.28) for Saint Joseph's.

The Monks are off until the weekend of December 1st when the team travels to Simmons College in Boston for the two-day GNAC Championship.
