Women Fall at Elms College, 137-119

CHICOPEE, MA – The Saint Joseph's College women's swim team fell to Elms College, 137-119, on Saturday afternoon.

The Monks were led by sophomore Anne Fougere (Warner, N.H.), who won the 50-Meter Breast (41.46) and 100-Meter Breast (1:30.78) events while Brooke Huberdeau (North Andover, Mass.) won the 100-Meter Free (1:10.77) and was the runner up in the 200-Meter Free (2:35.99) and 50-Meter Free (33.54).

Saint Joseph's received major contributions from the freshman class as well, as Danielle Charette (Westfield, Mass.) won the 50-Meter Back (37.00) and was the runner-up in the 400-Meter Free (5:16.03), Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine) placed as the runner-up in the 100-Meter Fly (1:27.88), 100-Meter Breast (1:32.93) and 100-Meter IM (1:24.63) and Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) placed second in the 800-Meter Free (11:04.82).

Sophomore Alexandra Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) also enjoyed a solid outing, as the second-year swimmer won the 100-Meter Back (1:21.73) and placed as the runner-up in the 50-Meter Fly (39.30).

The Monks return to action on Friday when the team competes in a meet at Regis College, starting at 6:00 PM.
