Women Sixth at GNAC Championship

BOSTON, MA – Saint Joseph's College placed sixth with 68 team points in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Swimming & Diving Championship at Simmons College over the weekend.

Freshman standout Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) registered a team-high 13 points with fourth-place finishes in the 500-Free (5:49.76) and 1000-Free (12:09.17) events and a fifth-place effort in the 200-Free (2:13.94).

Freshman Danielle Charette (Westfield, Mass.) finished fifth in the 50-Back (32.86) and scored a trio of seventh-place finishes in the 200-Free (2:16.58), 50-Fly (31.99) and 500-Free (5:57.33) events.

First-year Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine) placed sixth in the 200-IM (2:40.54) while sophomores Anne Fougere (Warner, N.H.) and Alexandra Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) registered sixth-place efforts in the 200-Breast (3:00.44) and 200-Back (2:32.76) events, respectively.

The Monks are off until Sunday, January 12th when the women host Simmons College in a 1:00 PM start.
