Mathieu Earns Medalist Honor, Monks Finish Second After Two Week Break

BOSTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College finished as the runner-up with a 311-team score in the Emmanuel College Invitational, held at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park on Wednesday.

Freshman Drew Mathieu (Windham, Maine) earned Medalist honors after leading the field with a three-over par 73 and senior Johnathan Flynn (Holden, Mass.) tied for third with a 76 card.

Roger Williams University claimed the team title after shooting a 304 with four individuals finishing in the top six overall.

For Saint Joseph's, freshman Cade Buckley (Peabody, Mass.), junior Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine), and junior Sean McDonough (Concord, N.H.) all turned in an 81 card and finished in a tie for 11th.

Saint Joseph's returns to the links this weekend with an appearance in the two-day, 36-hole Bowdoin College Invitational at the Brunswick Country Club.
