Spring 2021: Entering his sophomore season, McDonough would tie for fourth with an 84 (41-43) in a dual event with University of Southern Maine at Dunegrass Golf Club on April 12th, 2021. At the 2021 GNAC Golf Championships hosted by the Granite Links Golf Club, McDonough would shoot an incredible round, finishing tied for 2nd and making the all-conference team for the season. McDonough paced the Monks to the runner-up finish with four birdies and five pars, marking the most birdies on the day by any player in the field.

2019: McDonough began his collegiate golf career competing in the John Queenan Memorial Tournament at Point Sebago on September 3rd. McDonough would finish 5th in scoring for the Monks and score a 91 card for the day. Following that, McDonough would compete in the two day Bowdoin Invitational, shooting a 172 (87-85) and finished tied for 57th. On September 17th, McDonough would improve his first 18 hole score by 4 strokes with an 87 card at the Thomas Invitational hosted by Waterville Country Club. The Monks would return to Waterville on September 22nd for the UMF Invite, where McDonough would stay consistent with an 86 card. The Monks then traveled to Cape Arundel Country Club on September 25th for the UNE Invitational. There McDonough finished 4th for the Monks, tallying an 85 score card. On September 27th, the Monks competed in the USM Cup at Gorham Country Club. The event featured golfers playing in pairs playing six holes of best ball, six holes of scramble, and six holes of alternate shot formats. McDonough competed beside fellow freshman Trevor Flanagan, the duo would shoot a combined score of 72 and finish 5th overall. The team would head into October, traveling to Augusta Country Club for the Mariner Invitational on the 3rd. There McDonough would finish tied for 29th, turning in an 85 card. At the 2 day USM Fall Classic McDonough would rack up a 164 scorecard (80-84) placing tied for 22nd. At the GNAC Championships hosted by Biddeford-Saco C.C, McDonough capped the event tied for 14th with a 159 card, leading the Monks in scoring on Day 2 of the tournament shooting a 79. McDonough finished off his freshman season at the NEIGA Championships hosted by the Captain’s Course in Brewster, MA. There Mcdonough would finish off the year placing 4th for the Monks and shooting a 180 (90-90) card.
