WESTON, MA – The Saint Joseph's outdoor track and field teams participated in the Pride Invitational at Regis College on Sunday, April 27th.

For the men, freshman Calvin Field (Windham, Maine) enjoyed a fine day, winning the high jump with a program-record 1.93m effort and qualified for the ECAC Championship in the event. Field also placed sixth with an 11.79 time in the 100-meter dash and broke the SJC record in the race.

Senior Faisal Abdillahi (Lewiston, Maine) bested his own team mark and placed fourth with a 51.61 performance in the 400-meter dash and also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash (23.99).

Freshman Nick Shuckrow (Winslow, Maine) topped his previous team record with a 4:23.59 time in the 1500-meter run, an effort good for 11th place, while junior Joe DiSalvo (Derry, N.H.) shattered his team record in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing fourth overall with a 10:36.24 effort. DiSalvo's time at Regis was nearly 16 seconds faster than his previous best.

Sophomore Sam Dunay (Groton, Conn.) was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (18.69) and 400-meter hurdles (1:05.88) and also placed eighth in the javelin throw (43.78m). Sophomore Andrew Caron (Gardiner, Maine) finished sixth in the steeplechase (11:09.66) event.

On the women's side, freshman Gabby Lodge (Westbrook, Maine) was sixth in the discus throw with a team record (33.43m) performance and junior Hailey Frisbee (Kittery Point, Maine) placed seventh in the long jump with a 4.44m effort and also set a new team best in the event.

Junior Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) was fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:09.16) in what was the final regular-season competition of the year for Saint Joseph's.

The Monks will compete in the NCAA New England DIII Championship at Springfield College this Friday and Saturday.
