Dostie Tabbed GNAC Runner of the Week, Rabideau Also Honored

STANDISH, ME – SJC women's cross country runners Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) and Lauren Rabideau (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) have claimed Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors.

Dostie, the 2011 GNAC Rookie and Runner of the Year, has been chosen as the GNAC Runner of the Week while Rabideau, a freshman, is listed on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll.

Dostie kicked off the 2012 campaign with an individual top finish after posting a 20:49 time in a head to head meet with University of New England on September 1st. The victory was the fourth personal win of her short career and the time in the season opener ranks as her sixth-fastest 5K effort.

The weekly conference honor is the seventh for Dostie, who claimed three top rookie and three top runner accolades during her freshman season. 

Rabideau placed third overall with a 21:38 effort in a head-to-head meet with University of New England on September 1st and duplicated the time (21:38) to place 13th out of 125 runners in the UNE Invitational on September 8th.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the Rivier College Invitational in Nashua, N.H. on Friday at 4:00 PM.
