STANDISH, ME - The first annual event was a success with five
former SJC runners competing against the varsity squad. While only
two alumni were able to compete in the women's race, it was a great
start.
Shauna Franklin ('05) was the first alum to finish (4th place)
while 1980 grad Joy LeBlanc finished an impressive 5th place.
LeBlanc did not run for SJC because, as she stated, "there wasn't a
team back then."
The top three spots for the 5K event went to three sophomores,
Sarah Willis (1st), Jasmine Smith (2nd) and Aubrey Gray (3rd). Next
to finish for the Monks were Suzanne Connelly (6th) and Sara
Forrest (7th).
Rounding out the team's efforts were Jess Desrosiers (8th), Xue
Chen (9th) and Robin Caron (10th).
