SJC Men Place Third in GNAC Championship

STANDISH, Maine – Grad student Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) and senior Devin Abbott (North Berwick, Maine) finished 1-2 to help the Monks place third with 53 points in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) 8K Men's Cross Country Championship at the SJC Cross Country Course on Saturday afternoon.

Hendricks became just the second SJC runner to take home GNAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year honors after touring the 8K course in 29:42.4. Ryan Prescott '09, who claimed Runner of the Year accolades in 2007 and 2008, is the only other St. Joe's men's runner to earn the high honor.

Hendricks and Abbott earned First Team All-Conference honors by virtue of their top-seven finish while Carmosino collected Second Team All-GNAC acclaim.

In the women's 6K race, sophomore Lindy Hyndman (Auburn, Maine) was 43rd with a 33:10.9 time and second-year Terry Cassetta (Sandy Hook, Conn.) placed 44th with a 33:24.7 effort.
