NASHUA, NH - The Saint Joseph's College Women's Cross Country
team placed second with 57 points in the Rivier College
Invitational on Friday afternoon. Katie
Murphy '11 (Baileyville, ME) was the individual
runner-up after touring the course in 21:51, just five seconds off
the pace of winner Cat Viglienzoni from Emerson.
Emerson College won the event with 50 team points, with Norwich
(104), Colby-Sawyer (119), NHTI (120), Rivier (137), Lasell (138),
Daniel Webster (200) and Franklin Pierce (209) falling in behind
St. Joe's.
Mary Casinghino '10 (Manchester,
NH) placed fourth with a 22:40 effort and Shannon
Marden '10 (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) was 11th with a
23:11 time in the event. Allison
Pearsall '12 (West Newbury, MA) (24:00) placed
16th and Claire Cook '10
(Sangerville, ME) (24:59) was 24th to round out the top five
runners for the Monks.
Saint Joseph's will compete in the Pop Crowell Invitational at
Gordon College next Saturday.
