Dostie & Harrington Honored by Conference

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and two Saint Joseph's College women's cross country runners have earned accolades.

Junior Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) is the GNAC Runner of the Week for the second-consecutive reporting period and freshman Marie Harrington (Limerick, Maine) has claimed GNAC Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season.

In just her second race of the year, Dostie placed third out of 130 runners with a 20:52 effort in the 11th Annual Runnin' Monks Invitational in Standish on Saturday. The junior standout has been honored with GNAC weekly awards on 12 occasions during her collegiate career.

Harrington was the fourth SJC finisher and placed 10th in the Runnin' Monks 5K with a 21:26 time. The performance counts as her fastest time of the season and is four minutes better than her effort on the SJC course on August 31st when the Monks faced off against University of New England.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the State of Maine Championship, hosted by Colby College, this Saturday.
