NASHUA, N.H. – Saint Joseph's College (9-3, 1-1 GNAC) blanked Daniel Webster College (6-3), 3-0 (28-26, 25-22, 25-19), in non-conference women's volleyball action on Tuesday evening. Senior Sarah Hawkes (Pownal, Maine) posted a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs in the victory.

For the Eagles, Jennifer Finneran (Barnstead, N.H.) led the Eagles (6-3) with a match-high 13 kills, Ally Hayden (Bedford, N.H.) handed off 26 assists, while senior Samantha Hill (Hudson, N.H.) broke a program single-match record with 12 service aces, adding nine kills and six digs.

St. Joe's hit .217 on the night, while DWC hit .113. With the victory Saint Joseph's improves to 3-3 in the history of the series with Daniel Webster College.

SJC hit .212 in the opener against .128 for the Eagles as Hawkes knocked down six kills matching Hill, who had six for DWC. The teams forged nine ties and three lead changes and each had set point only to witness their opponents rally. SJC would close out the win behind two straight Eagle unforced errors.

The Monks jumped ahead by as many as six (12-6) early in set two and led 14-11 when Hill stepped to the line. The senior promptly buried six of her seven aces in the set sparking a 7-0 run that put DWC back in the lead at 18-14.

Despite six kills from Finneran in the set, SJC was aided by three Eagle errors to pull back even and took the lead for good on a Begley kill for a 21-20 lead. Kills from Hawkes and Russi helped seal the 25-22 win down the stretch.

The Monks took the lead for good early in the third and built leads of 11-4 and 14-6 out of the gate. Back-to-back kills from Hill and another from Temple helped close the gap and Hill would add four of her five aces in the set to cut a 19-13 deficit to 19-17.

A Finneran kill cut it to 19-18 by Wachowiak answered with her fourth kill of the night and SJC pulled away, ending it on kills from Holly Bannister (Cumberland, Maine) and Kaela Murphy (Salem, Mass.)

St. Joe's will play Lasell College and Suffolk University in a GNAC tri-match in Boston on Saturday. The Eagles head to MCLA on Saturday where they will face the hosts along with Kean and SUNY-Cobleskill, beginning at 1:00 PM.
