STANDISH, ME The Saint Josephs Mens Lacrosse team awards have been announced for the 2010 season. Eight awards were given and ten individuals were honored for their efforts.
STANDISH, ME – The Saint Joseph’s College Men’s Lacrosse team took a huge step forward during the 2010 season under third-year Head Coach Mike Edgar. The Monks capped the season with a 10-8 record overall and went 5-4 in conference play this spring.

CASTINE, ME Fourth-seeded Maine Maritime Academy (7-6, 6-3 NAC) defeated #5 Saint Josephs (10-8, 5-4 NAC), 22-6, in a North Atlantic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal contest on Saturday afternoon. Paul Dolewa 12 (Saco, ME) scored three goals and added an assist for the Monks in the season-ending loss.
STANDISH, ME Saint Josephs (10-7, 5-4 NAC) defeated Mitchell College (2-10), 18-7, in a non-conference mens lacrosse contest at Westerlea Way Field on Wednesday afternoon. Spencer Hunt 13 (Jeffersonville, VT) scored four goals and added five assists in the SJC triumph.
WATERVILLE, ME Saint Josephs College (9-7, 5-4 NAC) defeated Thomas College (3-8, 2-6 NAC), 13-7, in a North Atlantic Conference Mens Lacrosse contest on Tuesday afternoon. Spencer Hunt 13 (Jeffersonville, VT) scored five goals and added four assists in the SJC victory.
LYNDON CENTER, VT Saint Josephs (8-7, 4-4 NAC) defeated Lyndon State College (3-8, 2-6 NAC), 8-7, in a low-scoring North Atlantic Conference Mens Lacrosse contest on Sunday afternoon. Christopher Driscoll 13 (Saco, ME) made a program-record 23 saves in the Monks victory.
STANDISH, ME Castleton State College (9-5, 7-1 NAC) topped Saint Josephs (7-7, 3-4 NAC), 16-7, in a North Atlantic Conference Mens Lacrosse contest at Westerlea Way Field on Saturday afternoon. Spencer Hunt 13 (Jeffersonville, VT) and Sean Flanagan 13 (Hingham, MA) both tallied a goal and an assist in the SJC loss.

JOHNSON, VT St. Joes (6-6, 2-3 NAC) defeated Johnson State (1-7, 1-5 NAC), 11-9, in a North Atlantic Conference Mens Lacrosse contest on Sunday afternoon. Kody Peckham 11 (West Gardiner, ME) tallied three goals and two assists in the Monks victory.
NASHUA, NH Saint Josephs improved to 5-6 overall with a 19-0 victory over Rivier College (0-5) in a non-conference mens lacrosse contest on Tuesday evening. Spencer Hunt 13 (Jeffersonville, VT) tallied three goals and three assists in the triumph.
NEWTON, MA Mount Ida College (5-4, 4-0 NAC) defeated Saint Josephs (4-6, 1-3 NAC), 15-4, in a North Atlantic Conference Mens Lacrosse contest on Saturday afternoon. Monks goalkeeper Christopher Driscoll 13 (Saco, ME) made 21 saves in the losing effort.

BANGOR, ME Husson University (2-4, 1-0 NAC) defeated Saint Josephs College (3-4, 0-1 NAC), 14-5, in a North Atlantic Conference Mens Lacrosse opener at Hussons Boucher field on Saturday afternoon. Monks attacker Dylan Chase 13 (West Newbury, MA) scored four goals and goalkeeper Christopher Driscoll 13 (Saco, ME) made 18 saves in the losing effort.

Paul Dolewa '12 (Saco, ME) and Spencer Hunt '13 (Jeffersonville, VT) both netted three goals and Monks' keeper Marco Stefano '12 (Steep Falls, ME) made six saves in the triumph.

A pair of freshmen helped lead the Monks to victory, as Dylan Chase (West Newbury, MA) netted three goals and four assists and Spencer Hunt (Jeffersonville, VT) tallied four goals and two helpers in the triumph.
SALEM, MA The St. Joes Mens Lacrosse team fell to 1-2 with a 15-3 loss to Salem State on Tuesday evening. Paul Dolewa 12 (Saco, ME), Spencer Hunt 13 (Jeffersonville, VT) and Dylan Chase 13 (West Newbury, MA) tallied the Monks goals and Marco Stefano 12 (Steep Falls, ME) made 12 saves in goal for the Royal Blue.
BROOKLYN, NY - Saint Joseph's fell to 1-1 with a 10-4 loss to Mount St. Vincent (2-0) on Sunday evening. Dylan Chase '13 (West Newbury, MA) and Paul Dolewa '12 (Saco, ME) tallied two goals apiece for the Monks in the losing effort.
BROOKLYN, NY - The St. Joe's Men's Lacrosse team opened up the 2010 season with a 17-0 triumph over Bard College on Saturday evening. Dylan Chase '13 (West Newbury, MA) led the Monks with 4 goals and 5 total points in the lopsided victory.
STANDISH, ME - Three SJC senior athletes have agreed to share their experiences with Royal Blue followers during their spring trips on a new feature to the GOMONKS.com site called Monks Insider. Baseball player Mike Burdin (Gardiner, ME), lacrosse player Andrew Moravick (Biddeford, ME) and softball player Christy Wezowicz (Granville, MA) will be submitting blogs on a daily basis during their travels.
STANDISH, ME - The North Atlantic Conference Preseason Men's Lacrosse Poll has been released, and Saint Joseph's College is ranked sixth in a vote conducted by NAC coaches.
